Guarding Site Survey

A Guarding Site Survey is a structured assessment completed via the TKC Guarding App.

It captures key operational details about a site prior to, or during the early stages of, guarding coverage. The purpose is to ensure services are delivered safely, consistently, and in full compliance with industry and company standards.

Purpose of the Survey

The survey gathers essential site information to support guard deployment, including:

  • Patrol routes and site-specific duties

  • Access instructions (e.g. door codes, reception procedures)

  • Uniform and PPE requirements

  • Alarm and fire system details (where relevant)

  • Health & safety considerations, including officer welfare

  • Site photos and supporting operational notes

When Is a Survey Required?

Surveys are not typically required for:

  • Emergency deployments

  • One-off shifts

  • Short-term cover

A Guarding Site Survey is mandatory when any of the following thresholds are met:

  • 7 or more shifts are booked within a single ISO week

  • Shifts are scheduled across more than 4 separate ISO weeks

  • 14 or more shifts are booked within a single ISO week

These criteria indicate that the site is transitioning into a longer-term guarding requirement. A survey ensures the service is properly planned and aligned with operational standards.

How to Complete the Survey

Step 1: Attend Site

  • Log into the TKC Guarding App

  • Select the relevant site booking

  • Confirm your arrival on site

Step 2: Start the Survey

  • From the site menu, tap “Carry Out Site Survey”

Step 3: Enter Key Information

  • Complete all required fields in the survey

  • Review any existing assignment information for accuracy and relevance

  • Capture any missing details, speak to on-site staff where needed

  • Use “N/A” or “No info provided” if specific information is not available

Step 4: Finalise and Submit

  • Enter your email address

  • Sign the form

  • Tap “Done”, then book off site
