What is POWRA?
The Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) is a critical safety procedure conducted by security officers when they arrive on-site to start their shift.
It involves assessing potential risks and ensuring the environment is safe for performing duties.
Purpose of POWRA
- Ensure Safety: Identifies and mitigates risks to ensure the officer’s health and safety.
- Compliance: Maintains a log of identified risks for compliance purposes.
- Issue Resolution: Provides a direct line of contact to address and resolve any issues found on-site promptly.
How It Works
Officers answer seven quick questions related to:
- Site access
- Health and safety compliance
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Security systems
- Assignment instructions
- Welfare facilities
- Job duties
If no issues are found, officers proceed smoothly through the process.
If any issues are identified, they are reported and resolved with the support of the TKC team before continuing.
