A job is defined as having 'passed' or 'failed' our Chase Usage policy, based on whether it was completed on the mobile device, at the time that the job was actually completed on site.
We allow a 5 minute difference between the Offsite time and Finish time, before marking a job is failed.
To explain how this works in detail, a job has the following times recorded in our system:
- The Job Start time (when the job is scheduled to start)
- The Job End time (when the job is scheduled to finish)
- The Time Window (this is the period between the Job Start and the Job End)
- The Onsite time (when an officers clicks 'onsite' in the app)
- The Offsite time (when an officer clicks 'offsite' in the app)
- The Finish time (when the officer clicks 'finish' in the app)
- The Done time (when our system has fully received all of the synchronised data from the app and closed the job, which could be delayed due to signal issues etc.).
If an officer marks themselves Onsite or Offsite, and it is outside of the Time Window, then the mobile app will ask the officer to confirm or edit their Onsite/Offsite, which happens just before the Finish button. We have this feature in-case an officer forgets to use the mobile app on the job, allowing them to record their actual onsite/offsite time, rather than the time of using the app.
An example of the above scenario:
- An officer arrives on site at 15:30, and leaves at 16:00
- At 17:00, they remember to log into the app and complete the job.
- The mobile app will have recorded their onsite/offsite at 17:00, because that's when they used the app.
- Using the screen above, the officer corrects their onsite to 15:30 and offsite 16:00
In the above scenario, the Offsite time was 16:00, but the Finish time was 17:00, which exceeds the 5 minute allowance and therefore marks the job as Failed against our Chase Usage policy.
