Our Smart Access technology can also be incorporated into electric roller shutters. With the push of a button on your phone or using one of our fobs, you can have total control over your shutter without the hassle of forgotten or lost keys.
Converting your electric roller shutter to accommodate our Smart Access technology involves several steps.
The first step is to ascertain if the shutter currently has height sensors to tell the central control unit when the shutter is open or closed. You may know if your shutter already has height sensors but if it doesn't, we can retrofit them whilst installing the rest of the Smart Access solution.
After confirming the presence of the height sensors, we convert the central control unit so that it can receive a signal from our Smart Access app or fob. To do this, depending on the unit, we either fit a small microprocessor or replace the unit itself. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing which of these is the best option until the day of the installation. This is due to the location of the central control units being housed behind the shutters, making them very difficult to access. But have no fear, it's what we do best and either option can be completed with minimal disruption to your property.
Lastly, we install a reader on the wall and a small gateway to control your shutter. The reader will allow you to present your phone (or fob) and control the shutter. Naturally, the reader links into the Smart Security Platform, granting you access to the same detailed analytics available through our smart door locks.
The supplier for our smart shutter technology, dormakaba, have recently been selected as a Red Dot Award winner for their latest innovative product design, making them a winner in one of the world's most renowned design competitions.
